About the Creator

I'm just an ordinary IT professional who's spent the last few years living in Japan, writing code and still learning this industry one step at a time. I came here originally just because I loved the films, the music, some feeling about this place I could never quite put into words. It's only after actually living here that I learned "loving somewhere" and "truly putting down roots" are two very different things. These past few years have also brought their own uncertainty, watching the industry shift under everyone's feet — coworkers, friends, carried along by a changing world. I keep asking myself the same question they must be asking: does trying this hard actually mean anything? Gyuba-chan and TA's family were drawn out of that question, asked over and over, with no tidy answer. I just wanted to put down, somewhere, what it looks like to keep living earnestly even without certainty. And if these small characters have ever caught you off guard, in some quiet moment — then this project has already done the most important thing it set out to do.
